Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence (SPAN) has been supporting survivors of domestic violence and their children in Boulder and Broomfield Counties, Colorado, since 1979. With the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, SPAN will make the secure outdoor area of its Emergency Shelter a space that supports children’s fun, outdoor family time, safety and mobility for the 350 adults and children who stay at Shelter every year. These improvements will help create a safe, healing outdoor environment at SPAN’s Shelter, where survivors and their children can rebuild their lives after crisis and trauma.
