As executive vice president, president of Foundation Building Materials (FBM), Ruben Mendoza oversees all functions across field and corporate offices at FBM, with responsibility for FBM’s strategic direction and profitable growth in support of the large Pro customer. He joined Lowe’s executive leadership team in 2025.
Ruben has more than 30 years of experience in specialty building products distribution. In 2011, he founded FBM, a leading North American distributor of interior building products, including drywall, metal framing, ceiling systems, commercial doors and hardware, insulation, and complementary products serving large residential and commercial professionals. He was FBM’s president and CEO until it was acquired by Lowe’s in 2025. He previously served as CEO of Acoustical Material Services, a distributor of wallboard, acoustical suspended ceiling systems, doors and other building products, which was sold to Allied Building Products in 2007.
Ruben attended California State University and completed executive education programs at Harvard Business School, Wharton School of Business and Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.
