Vision House follows a mission to work with marginalized families who are experiencing homelessness – the hidden homeless in our community. With the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, our organization will be able to repair stairs and decking, remodel of an apartment kitchen as well as install carpeting and receive a fresh coat of paint. These renovations and repairs will expand our capacity to serve families experiencing homelessness, providing them with a safe and secure environment in which to rebuild their lives.

Habitat for Humanity in Whatcom County

Since 1988, Habitat for Humanity in Whatcom County has been helping low-income Whatcom families living in substandard housing find a safe, affordable place to call home. With the Lowe’s Hometown grant, we will be building a youth/commercial center to help house our AmeriCorps and Care-A-Vanner volunteers, as well as serve the youth in the community, especially within the Nooksack tribe.

Clark County District Court Veterans Garden

The Clark County Veterans Garden is a criminal justice community service site with a large garden which is used to grow fresh food for the food banks in our area. With the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, the organization will add a 30’ x 72’ greenhouse to the property. This greenhouse will extend its growing season, expand capacity, and increase the amount of fresh food we can donate to the local food banks.

Historic Port Orchard Theater Foundation

The historic Polaris Theater in Port Orchard has hosted thousands of community members since opening in 1924. Through Lowe's Hometowns, upgrades led by the Historic Port Orchard Theater Foundation will renovate the theater’s ticket booth and façade will give the theater a fresh look and revitalize a once thriving beacon of the community. This updated theater will support not only cinema but live music and shows, as well as community events and gatherings, business meetings, and family and community reunions.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County serves over 170 children each year with more than 50% of the kids eligible for free or reduced lunch. This club provides a resource for working parents who cannot afford after school care. Through Lowe's Hometowns, a new HVAC system, gym floor, repaired restroom floor and freshly painted gym walls will modernize and increase the facility's usable space, broadening the impact this Boys & Girls Club has on the community.

Jefferson Elementary School

The Jefferson Elementary School’s outdoor space has become completely run down. The elementary school will repaint the blacktop with games and artwork that bring color and fun to the students’ day. In addition they will plant trees, add new playground equipment and murals that showcase the culture of Mount Vernon to lift spirits and make this school feel like a wonderful place to belong.

Jubilee REACH

The mission of Jubilee REACH is to bring healing, build community and transform the lives of the students and families in Bellevue. Its four pillars are: the public schools, the organization's community center, its thrift store and community-building events. This project will address safety issues with its existing playground and provide enhancements.

Phinney Neighborhood Association

The Phinney Neighborhood Association has a project covering two sites. They would like to build a deck outside the Greenwood Senior Center with tables, chairs, and umbrellas that would also provide a space for meetings, classes and support groups. The Phinney Center itself has no outdoor space, so the project would also transform its lower lot with tables, chairs and umbrellas, as well as create sitting spaces at various points throughout the property.

A historic town hall that houses a senior citizen center seeks to adapt its space to provide a better, safer, and more flexible and spacious area for seniors to socialize, dine and exercise. The space will also help the hall better serve the community with an improved space to host events.
